GM Recalling 1.3 Million Chevrolets and Pontiacs

I'm glad to see that this recall thing that has been going on lately is contagious and automotive manufacturers are taking responsibility for their shortcomings.

Today General Motors announced they will be calling 1.3 million compact cars in North America to fix issues involved with the power steering that has been linked to 14 crashes and one injury.

The recall only involves 2005-2010 Chevrolet Cobalt and 2007-2010 Pontiac G5 for the US, 2005-2006 Pontiac Pursuit sold in Canada, and the 2005-2006 Pontiac G4 sold in Mexico.

GM said the affected vehicles can be still be "safely controlled" but it may require greater steering effort under 15 mph (24 kph). Drivers will see a warning light and hear a chime if the power steering fails.

I've just added a few more cars on to my Expensive Road Hazards List . Oh what will I do with a catch 22, a teenager with a recalled car......
