11's With Humble Performance's All Motor EG!

When the words “All Motor” come to mind, usually the thought of a raspy sounding, fart can equipped Honda Hatch Back comes to mind, but that has long since passed, now-a-days All Motor Honda’s have reached Horse Power levels previously thought impossible, and quarter-mile times, once thought unattainable. With advances in technology, small 1.8 liter motors have been stroked up to 2.2L and motors as big as the newer K-Series Honda motors range from 2.0 liters to 2.6 Liters. No doubt these motors have much potential, which is what the guys at Humble Performance have been doing during the 2010 Import Face-Off Race Circuit.

Starting off as an experimental motor build for a high-powered All-Motor Daily Driver, the setup was to be in a 2003 Honda Civic Si (EP3), as the build evolved and began to become more intense the chassis of choice changed to the 1993 Honda Civic (EG) Hatchback. After its first couple of tuning sessions and suspension adjustments, it was ready for its first trip to the track. At approximately 300 Horsepower, that’s 125 horsepower per liter! Competing against last year’s IFO All Motor winner Jason Lumpkin’s B-Series CRX. Coming to a new track with a new setup like this, was no easy task, but as fate would have it, the hatch took the victory with an 11.22 ET going 121.83 miles per hour through the traps. Event after event, the car kept improving, lower times and higher trap speeds. At our neighboring track in Noble, Oklahoma the car broke deeper into the 11s as it ran an 11.02 at 125 mph, also taking the victory once again.

With about two and half months until their next Import Face-Off Event, the Humble Performance Team, decide to step it up a notch, and change the game plan for the car once again. With help from expert engine builder “Falo-Tech” the BluePrint rods were traded for OEM Rods, and bumping up the compression with a new set of off the shelf 13.7:1 Wiseco Pistons. The motor still at stock bore and stroke along with nearly OEM everything, was ready to undergo its overhaul. After a rigorous rebuild the now refurbished motor was ready for another go. After its first couple of tuning sessions it was already back up to its 300hp mark, but this being a new motor, there was still more to be had. At the next Import Face-Off event the car easily overcame the competition, snapping consistent 11.0s, and taking home another victory for the Humble Performance team.

During the off time between events the Humble Team took the car to the local track and continued its testing, proving to once again set the bar higher for All Motor cars. Now the motor being broken in and ready for more power, underwent an extensive tuning session. Once at the track, car beat its personal best with a 10.98, then three consecutive 10.95 passes, and two 10.90 passes, making it the first All Motor Honda in Oklahoma to run 10s in the quarter mile.

Since then its personal best has been improved to a 10.81 and continues to push the boundaries of its OEM parts and set the bar higher and currently has the World’s Fastest Stock Bore Stroke All Motor Hatch.
