Bentley To Launch New Variants Every 18 Months (Video)

"In a new strategy to better retain the interest of its wealthy clientele, Bentley is pursuing an 18-month new product launch cycle. The schedule will spawn additional variants of exisitng models such as the 2011 Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible, which is a variant of the Supersports coupe, which is also a variant of the Continental GT.

"Bentley's internal research determined that customers drive their Bentleys for just 12 to 18 months on average before the itch for a new ride settles in. Furthermore, when Bentley offered both coupe and convertible bodystyles of the same model many customers bought both, demonstrating a demand for more choices regardless of their lack of diversity."

"As part of their PR push Bentley has released new pictures and a promotional video of the Continental Supersports Convertible."

"Originally unveiled the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, the Continental Supersports Convertible features a 6.0-liter twin-turbo W12 engine with 630 PS (621 bhp / 463 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. Backed up by all-wheel drive (with a 40/60 rear basis) and a Quickshift transmission, the CSC accelerates from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds, before topping out at 202 mph (325 km/h)."
