Nissan GTR Owner Gets Caught Scamming Insurance Company By Youtube Video
What better way to save $75,000 on damages then to blame it on someone else? Nobody will know, unless of course the video is on Youtube...
21-year old Jay Chen crashed his $125,000 Nissan GTR in March of last year while chasing a Mitsubishi Lancer on a winding road. Demolishing the front-end in the accident, damages came out to about $75,000.
Not being so bright, he decided he would tell the insurance company that his sister crashed the car in an accident on the freeway. He then withdrew and filed another claim, stating that he was in an accident with the car on a different freeway.
Meanwhile, the car was sitting in a body shop waiting to be repaired. The shop was becoming impatient and someone tipped of the state insurance commissioner's office that the car had arrived at the body shop before the alleged accidents were said to have taken place. (WHOOPS!!!)
Police then combed through various street racing videos on Youtube and identified his car due to the rarity of the vehicle in the United States.
Chen quickly confessed when evidence was brought forth and now faces six counts of fraud.
Maybe he can claim the accident caused brain damage which impaired his judgment ??
